Dejan Dabić, Martovski Festival Art Director

The book is about the making of the last film by the Croatian Oscar winner and world-renowned filmmaker, Dušan Vukotić,  Welcome to the Planet Earth, a short animated-fiction-puppet film. Pre-production began in the spring of 1990, and the film was completed in late 1993. It premiered in 1994 at the Animafest. After that screening, the film disappeared. It was not shown anywhere else, had no festival life, no one wrote about it… despite being a film where Vukotić, in his full creative force, managed to construct his fantastic universe. In this book, thirteen critics and aestheticians of animation write about this film’s qualities and possible shortcomings. The book also brings the complete shooting script and an introduction with a timeline of the origin of this testamentary film by Dušan Vukotić against the backdrop of war…

Veljko Krulčić (1962)

Author of more than two thousand bibliographic units on Croatian and Yugoslav film and cinematography. Founder and editor-in-chief of the monthly film magazine Hollywood (published from 1995 to 2006). Edited and/or compiled more than 20 books on film. He had the privilege and honour to cooperate occasionally, and even more to spend time with Dušan Vukotić. In 2013, together with Lila Vukotić, he established an association that studies Vukotić’s life and work. He published three books about Vukotić and organized author’s exhibitions in Pula, Banja Luka and Belgrade.

This monograph is an exceptional, valuable, and previous contribution to our cinematographic and film art, television journalism, and culture as a whole. Over 80 author’s texts, signed by well-known and notable names of Serbian culture and art, are presented on more than 500 large-format pages. In the second part, there is carefully systematized, rich, diverse and essential material. The reader’s experience is being enriched and deepened with over 500 photographs, film stills and other documents, telling a story about the paths, faces and landscapes from Slavuj’s life… (From the review by Dimitrije Tasić)

Mirjana Hadžić (Ruma, 1946)

Obtained her BA from the Faculty of Economics, Department of Organizational Sciences (Cybernetics), in Novi Sad. Worked as a business application programmer, IT manager and bank computer center director. She has been married to Slavuj Hadžić since 1973, with whom she has two sons, Miloš (1976) and Jovan (1977). Living with the filmmaker, listening, learning, understanding his work and her professional work as a computer scientist related to research and systematization of data certainly contributed to this monograph being presented in a form facilitating the development of new media, new steps in film, but pioneering in TV, in the late 20th century and the early new millennium.
