1 & 2. 4. 2022.// Dom omladine Beograda

A workshop on the mindset of expression in short and very short, the shortest possible forms. In talking, writing, playing, drawing, video and animation. The selected contents the participants bring will be stripped to their atomic essence. The participants will face a series of challenges, tasks, games in various art forms, even if they are beginners with no experience. Along the way, they will learn to cope with impossible work conditions and perhaps discover how dire conditions spawn challenging new, fresh solutions. They will learn, or at least try, to pack their grandiose ideas into matchboxes. A novel into an SMS or a graffiti, a mural into a jar, a film into a frame that passes in the blink of an eye. The result of the workshop will be a video collage of short forms intertwined with documentary footage of the work process.

Miloš Tomić

Stubborn filmmaker and striving musician since 1993. Always on a bicycle. Still active in making new and fixing his old bad movies.

Why and how to produce films with a cultural and even political aspiration, in a context dominated by the ideology of the free market and by the increasing value of the economic and commercial results. Why it seems better to resist to this tendency and how the development phase is so relevant in the process of making a documentary, from an artistic and productive point of view, for the decisions to be made, consistency with an editorial line and with the poetics of the author. What steps have to be taken to protect and give visibility and recognition to this type of cinema.

Case history: the film Selfie by Agostino Ferrente.
