This study results from many years of multidisciplinary research on the history and aesthetics of the film avant-garde in the world and in Serbia. It is a detailed academic review of the lesser-known history of avant-garde and experimental film in the world and Serbia and contemporary cultural take on film art applied to the film experiment. This edition offers case studies of anthological short alternative films by Živojin Pavlović and Kokan Rakonjac from 1960: Triptych on Matter and Death and The Wall, as authentic Serbian variants of psychodrama neo-avant-garde film. The talks will focus on the concepts of the short film, avant-garde and neo-avant-garde film, experimental film and art video, and the culture and practice of alternative film in the SFRY.
